Combining Stats with the S+ Mutator

The S+ Mutator can be used to combine stats from different dinos by temporarily turning most dinos into gestation-based breeders.

The basic idea is simple: after the dinos mate, you can check the unborn baby's stats before it is born. If the baby has the stats you want, keep the pregnancy. If not, abort the pregnancy and mate again immediately.

In this example, we will combine:

  • Bulbdog A: Oxygen 254 + Speed 254
  • Bulbdog B: Food 254

The goal is to produce a baby with Oxygen 254 + Speed 254 + Food 254.

1. Enable Breeding Pulse

Set the S+ Mutator range large enough to cover both dinos.

Use the Allow Breeding Pulse function to temporarily turn the dinos into a gestation-based species.

The dinos will have a two-turtle icon above their heads.

The effect lasts for a long time. You only need to use the function again when the icon disappears.

2. Enable Newborn Auto Trap

Hold E on a Soul Terminal and select:

Options → Newborn Auto Trap

Set the range large enough to cover both Bulbdogs, then click Mating On.

Let the dinos mate and wait until the female starts gestating.

3. Check the Baby's Stats

Hold E on an Egg Incubator and select:

Gestation Monitoring

Then hold E on the pregnant female and select:

Gestation Monitoring → View Embryo Stats

You can now see the stats of the unborn baby.

4. Keep or Abort

If the baby has the stats you want:

Keep the pregnancy.

If the stats are not what you want:

Hold E on the Soul Terminal → Options → Newborn Auto Trap → Abort Gestation

The pregnancy will be aborted, and the dinos can mate again immediately.

5. Repeat Until You Get the Desired Stats

Simply repeat the process:

Mate → Check Embryo Stats → Keep or Abort → Mate Again

This allows you to combine specific stats without having to raise unwanted babies or wait for a new breeding cycle.

Result:

6. Combining 7 Stats into a Perfect Creature

The method above shows how to combine 1 creature with 2 stats and 1 creature with 1 stat, where the success rate is still relatively manageable.

But what if you want to combine all 7 stats into one Perfect creature?

The more stats you try to combine, the lower the chance of getting all desired stats at the same time. To keep the success rate more manageable, I usually divide the stats into smaller groups.

For a creature with 7 stats, I use this setup:

  • 3 pairs of 1-stat creatures

  • 1 remaining 1-stat creature

After combining the 3 pairs, we will have:

  • 3 creatures with 2 stats

  • 1 creature with 1 stat

Then:

  1. Combine two 2-stat creatures → 1 creature with 4 stats.

  2. Combine the remaining 2-stat creature with the 1-stat creature → 1 creature with 3 stats.

Now we have:

  • 1 creature with 4 stats

  • 1 creature with 3 stats

This is usually the most time-consuming part because combining 4 + 3 stats has an extremely low success rate.

I usually try to create around 10–15 creatures with 3 stats first. You can do this by cloning them or mating them with a large number of females.

Once you have 10–15 three-stat creatures, use them to combine with the 4-stat creature, which should be Male.

The goal is to obtain creatures with 5 or 6 stats.

Getting all 7 stats at once is obviously great, but the chance is extremely low. A much more practical goal is to get one 6-stat creature, while making sure the other 5–6 stat creatures have the stats that are missing from that 6-stat creature.

For example:

We get one 6-stat creature that is missing Melee.

Then, among the other 5–6 stat creatures, we try to find creatures that have Melee while missing some of the other stats.

Finally, combine the 6-stat creature missing Melee with the other 5–6 stat creatures that have the missing stat.

Repeat this process until you successfully combine all 7 stats into the final Perfect creature.
